One in seven children aged 10 to 19 lives with a diagnosable mental health condition. Clinical child psychology is not adult psychology scaled down. A developing brain runs on different rules. The prefrontal cortex — the seat of planning, impulse control and emotional regulation — does not reach structural maturity until the mid-to-late twenties. - Special populations and frontiers — autism practice today, children in foster care, cultural humility, and an honest read of the screen-time evidence
