3 Minute French – Course 17 | Build Your French Step by Step, Continue from Courses 1–16 and learn more natural French with clear, step-by-step lessons.
Course Description
This is the seventeenth course in the 3 Minute French series, covering lessons 144 to 152. By this stage, you’ve already built a strong foundation in French, and now we’re going to continue developing your ability to speak more naturally and confidently.
In this course, we focus on practical, everyday language that helps you express yourself more clearly in real situations.
You’ll learn how to talk about things breaking, being broken, and being repaired using verbs like réparer, casser and briser, as well as the very useful phrase tomber en panne. We’ll also look at the subtle differences between similar verbs so that you can choose the right one naturally.
We then move on to expressing possession in a clearer and more flexible way, using structures like à moi, à lui, and the question à qui (whose?).
Another key part of this course is learning how to use ne…jamais (never), and how to combine it with other negatives to form more complex and natural sentences.
You’ll also learn how to talk about time more naturally using phrases like un jour (someday), dans le passé (in the past), and à l’avenir (in the future).
We’ll spend time looking at adjective placement in French, where adjectives go, which ones come before the noun, and how meaning can change depending on their position. This includes some really useful “moveable adjectives” like ancien, cher and propre.
Finally, we’ll look at how to use peu and un peu to express “not very” and “not much”, helping you sound more natural and more like a native speaker.
By the end of this course, you’ll feel more confident forming longer, more natural sentences in French and understanding how the language really works.
